The Blabber PayPal API integration lets you send referral reward payments to multiple people at the same time. You can send up to 15,000 payments with one invoice for a flat $0.25 per payment. Multiple payments to the same referrer are combined into one payout to reduce fees. See PayPal fees. Referrers receive money in their linked Venmo or PayPal accounts with no fees.
Apply for PayPal Payouts
Follow these steps to request access to PayPal Payouts.
- Login or create PayPal Business account.
- Go to Pay & Get paid → Payouts → Request access.
- If the account will only be used for referral reward payments, select Merchant Category Code 7392 (Consulting Services).
- Confirm identity.
- Confirm email address.
- Link your bank account.
- Add funds to your PayPal business account.
- Connect Blabber account to your PayPal account.
PayPal Payouts denied
PayPal Payouts is intended strictly for referral rewards and commissions. It should not be used for payroll, personal transfers, or payments for products and services.
Active PayPal Business accounts in good standing are typically approved immediately when Payouts will be used only for referral rewards. Some accounts may require an additional review, which can take 3–5 business days.
If your account is denied, follow these steps to request a manual review.
1. Confirm your account is fully set up
Before contacting PayPal, confirm that you have:

2. Contact PayPal Business Support
Contact PayPal Business support and ask the representative to open a case and route your application to the Payouts eligibility or onboarding team for manual review.

Add funds to your PayPal balance
There’s no limit on the total payout amount. The maximum individual payment to an existing PayPal account holder is $60,000, and $20,000 for new PayPal account holders. Payouts are funded using your PayPal balance, so be sure to add enough funds to cover your total payout, including fees. The PayPal fee is a flat $0.25 per payment.
IMPORTANT: Funds typically take 3 to 5 business days to clear. To avoid delays in paying referrers, we recommend maintaining a balance of at least $1,000 at all times.
PayPal payout fees
You can send up to 15,000 payments with one invoice. PayPal charges a flat $0.25 per payment. However, Blabber combines multiple payments to the same referrer into a single payout, so you only pay $0.25 per recipient, rather than per individual payment.
Example: Referrer John Doe earned 4 payments in a single pay period. If each payment is processed separately, the total fee would be $1.00. But if all 4 payments are approved and processed together, they’ll be combined into one payout—and the total fee will be just $0.25.

When you initiate a payout request:
- Blabber automatically combines all payments to the same referrer into one payout and processes it through the PayPal API.
- Referrers are notified via mobile app push notification when they receive a payment.
- PayPal notifies referrers by email that they have received a payment.
- PayPal will send you an email confirmation once your invoice payment batch has been processed.
To check the status of your payments:
1. Go to the Blabber Rewards billing page.
2. Or log in to your PayPal account.

Recipients without PayPal account
If referrers don't have a linked PayPal account, we'll notify them that they have earned commission and need to link their PayPal account to get paid. Setting up a PayPal account is straightforward.
