Referral lead status

Referral lead status can be updated in Blabber through the following:

This section explains the 3 components of referral status and their respective stages.

1. Introduction status

Status Definition
New When a person in your organization receives a warm business introduction from a Referrer via group text or email.
Qualified

You can set your qualification criteria when creating offers for "Qualified introductions".

  • Warm introduction
  • Quote request
  • Test drive scheduled
  • Showroom visit
  • Many more...

By default, if there’s no reward for "Qualified introductions," referral leads that pass the spam check (i.e. Passed — Relationship validated) are automatically marked as "Qualified".

Disqualified
  • Failed spam check: Leads that failed spam check are automatically disqualified.

  • Disqualified by your company:
    • Inaccurate target audience
    • Pre-existing relationship
    • Unmet rewards qualification criteria
    • Duplicate referral
    • Fraudulent or suspicious activity
    • Unresponsive
    • Spam - not a real lead
    • Other

2. Spam check status

The Blabber spam check, powered by ChatGPT, detects spam automatically by monitoring referred person responses.

Status Definition
In progress The referred person hasn't responded, and 24 hours haven't run out.
Passed — Relationship validated The referred person responds within 24 hours, and their response indicates they know the Referrer.
Failed — Spam: Relationship not confirmed The referred person's response indicates they don’t know the Referrer (e.g., "You have a wrong number," "I don't know who you are," "Unsubscribe," "Stop," etc.).
Failed — Possibly spam: Unresponsive The referred person doesn’t respond within 24 hours to a group text or email.

Blabber’s cost-per-lead pricing is based on leads that pass the Spam check and are marked as "Passed - Relationship validated". Spam leads do not count toward your purchased lead credits.

3. Deal status

Status Definition
New When a person in your organization receives a warm business introduction from a Referrer via group text or email.
Working When referral leads are past the qualified stage, the referral recipient works on closing the deal (i.e., getting the first transaction).
Won

The referral lead is marked as a Deal 'WON' if successfully closed

Lost The referral lead is marked as Deal 'LOST' if it does not result in a transaction.
Disqualified Disqualified introductions automatically change Deal status to 'DISQUALIFIED'.

Deals vs. Transactions

Deal Transaction
  • A deal represents a contract or business transaction between a company and a referred person.

  • The referral lead is marked as 'WON' if the deal is successfully closed and 'LOST' if it doesn’t result in a signed agreement or completed transaction.
  • A transaction is a financial activity within a deal, such as a payment for a product, service, membership, etc. Once transactions are added, the software automatically calculates the referrer's commission.

  • Important: When you add the first transaction for a specific referral, the Blabber software automatically updates the referral lead status to 'Deal Won.

5. Introduction & Deal status valid options

If no reward exists for a 'Qualified introduction' or its criteria isn’t a 'Warm introduction' (e.g., demo scheduled, showroom visit), marking it 'Disqualified' sets the Deal to 'Disqualified' and disables it. The introduction status can be changed back to 'New' or 'Qualified'.

For a 'Qualified introduction' reward with 'Warm introduction' criteria, if the introduction fails the spam check, the introduction is automatically disqualified. If it fails in error, the status can be changed to 'Qualified' but not 'New'.
