"Test lead" feature for training staff

Blabber’s referral mobile app lets referrers quickly send warm introductions via group text or email, connecting their favorite salesperson with their contacts.

Referrers sync their phone contacts and tap the “Make an Intro” button. Once the introduction is sent and delivered, the app switches “Make an Intro” to “Track,” letting referrers monitor referral status and their earnings on the status page.

But what if you’re training staff and need to resend an introduction to the same contact? Introducing the "Test Lead" feature.

What is the "Test Lead" feature?

The "Test Lead" feature is built for training staff. When a referrer starts an SMS or email with the word “Test” at the beginning (e.g., “Test: Hi Joe, meet Alex!”), Blabber tracks it like any other referral, with two key differences:

  1. Billing: Test leads don’t count toward your purchased lead credits.
  2. Reports: You can delete test leads and send the introduction to the same contact again.

Once a test lead is deleted, the app reverts the “Track” button to “Make an Intro” for that contact, ready for another training session.

Other scenarios

The following scenarios describe three cases when a referral lead is automatically flagged as a "Test" lead:

Keyword "Test"

The referrer sends a group text or email introduction and includes the word "Test" or "Testing" at the start of the message (e.g., "Test: Meet my favorite salesperson!").

Self-referrals

The referrer’s "FROM" email or phone number is identical to the referral’s "TO" email or phone number.

Referrer & recipient are the same

The referrer’s "FROM" email or phone number is identical to the recipient’s "TO" email or phone number.
