This article explains what happens when a referrer’s royalty offer changes after they invite someone to join.
Key idea to know first
A royalty offer is locked in when a new referrer signs up using a sponsor code.
Once that royalty offer is linked to the sponsored referrer, it does not change, even if the sponsor later receives a different royalty offer or a referrer offer with no royalties.
The only thing that stops a royalty is expiration.
Example 1
The sponsor’s royalty offer changes later
Scenario
Referrer A has a 10% royalty offer for 12 months
Referrer B signs up using Referrer A’s sponsor code
Later, Referrer A’s royalty offer changes to 5%
What happens
Referrer A continues to earn 10% royalties from Referrer B for the full 12 months.
The new 5% offer does not affect Referrer B.
Example timeline
12/15/25
Referrer A has Offer XYZ
10% royalty for 12 months2/14/26
Referrer B signs up using Referrer A’s sponsor code
Referrer A earns 10% from Referrer B until 2/13/272/17/26
Referrer A receives a new offer
Offer ZYX with 5% royalty for 12 monthsThis does not change Referrer B’s royalties
2/18/26
Referrer C signs up using Referrer A’s sponsor code
Referrer A earns 5% from Referrer C until 2/17/27
Summary for example 1
Existing sponsored referrers keep the original royalty
New sponsored referrers use the new royalty
Royalties stop only when the original time period expires
Example 2
The sponsor no longer has any royalty offer
Scenario
Referrer A has a 10% royalty offer for 12 months
Referrer B signs up while that offer is active
Later, Referrer A has no royalty offer at all
Referrer C signs up when Referrer A has no royalty offer.
What happens
Referrer A still earns the original 10% royalties from Referrer B until the 12-month period ends.
Removing or losing a royalty offer does not cancel any royalties already linked to Referrer B.
Referrer A does not earn royalties from Referrer C.
Summary for example 2
Royalties stay active once linked
Losing an offer later does not stop existing royalties
Royalties stop only when the original expiration date is reached
In simple terms
Royalty offers are locked at signup
Changes only affect future referrers
Expiration is the only thing that stops a royalty for existing referrers
