How staff can participate in the referral program
Blabber is built to support both staff and non-staff referring to the company. Staff can join their company’s referral program and act as referrers, as long as they are not referring to themselves.
What the Blabber platform supports
| Scenario | Supported |
Reason not supported |
| Staff refers a customer to someone at the company | Yes |
|
| Staff refers a customer to themselves | No |
Fraud protection rules – self referral are not allowed |
| Staff refers another staff member to the company | No |
Offer terms – must be new to the business |
Staff lead
Blabber automatically identifies when a referrer is a staff member in three ways:
- The referrer is a user on the brand account (their phone number or email matches a Blabber user).
- The referrer’s email domain matches one of the location website domains.
- The introduction email was sent from an email address with a domain that matches one of the location website domains.
Fraud and offer violation detection rules
| Scenario | Detection | What happens |
| Staff referring staff | Referral email or phone matches a user in the account. | The introduction message WILL NOT BE SENT. |
| Staff referring staff | Referral email domain matches one of the location website domains. | The introduction message WILL NOT BE SENT. |
| Self referral | Account match - The referrer’s account email or phone matches the referral’s email or phone. | The introduction message WILL NOT BE SENT. |
| Self referral | Message match - The referrer’s account details do not match, but the introduction is sent from the same email address or phone number as the referral. | The introduction message WILL BE SENT, but the Payments report flags it as a self referral in the Fraud alert column. |
