New referrers
People can join your referral program by downloading the app and creating an account with or without an invitation code.
The referral offer a new person gets when they join is based on the invitation code they used. If they didn’t use an invitation code, the company’s default offer will be assigned. You can change the referrer offer at any time on the referrer detail page.
| Invitation code | Offer assigned to referrers | Referral recipient assigned to referrers |
| No invitation code — No default offer set | Referrers can’t create an account if no default offer is set. | |
| No invitation code — Default offer set | Company default offer. | Person they choose during signup, limited to recipients linked to their assigned offer. |
| Offer invitation code | Offer linked to invitation code | Person they choose during signup, limited to recipients linked to their assigned offer. |
| Referrer (i.e. sponsor) invitation code | Company default offer. | Person they choose during signup, limited to recipients linked to their assigned offer. |
| Users invitation code (Not referral recipient) |
Default offer set for user profile. If the user profile is not linked to an offer, then the company's default offer is assigned. If the user profile is linked to an archived offer, then the company's default offer is assigned. |

Automatically assigned to the person whose invitation code they used to sign up, as long as that person is linked to the offer they are assigned to. If not, the referrer will choose from recipients linked to the offer. |
Note: Once a person joins your referral program, the 'Relationship type' cannot be changed. If the referral partner selects the wrong relationship type when creating an account, you can terminate that account, or they can close it through the mobile app and create a new account with the correct relationship type.
Archiving offers & reassigning referrers.
- When archiving offers, you can move existing referrers to a new offer. Referrers will be notified in the mobile app that their previous offer has expired and that they’ve been assigned to a new offer.
- If the referral recipient, a referrer previously selected, isn’t linked to the new offer, the referrer will be automatically reassigned to a different recipient who is.
- Referrers are reassigned to a new recipient on a round-robin basis—first to another salesperson linked to the same location. If no other salespeople are linked to that location, the referrer will be reassigned to a recipient from any location.
For example:
-
- Referrer Mike currently has Offer A and has selected Jonathan as his referral recipient. Jonathan is located in the Seattle location.
- The business creates a new referral offer, Offer B, and specifies that only salespeople from the New York location can work referral leads generated from that offer.
- The business archives Offer A and reassigns Mike to Offer B.
- Since Jane is not linked to Offer B, Mike will be reassigned to a new recipient.
